Joshua Metzl, M.D.

Dr. Metzl specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle injuries. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and then received a medical degree Cum Laude from the University of Missouri. Dr. Metzl completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY followed by a foot and ankle fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Metzl’s practice interests include forefoot disorders (bunions, hammertoes, hallux rigidus), ankle instability, sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, ankle replacement, flatfoot and posterior tibial tendon disorders.
Dr. Metzl has presented his research at several national meetings and is currently working on projects related to minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, metatarsal fractures in athletes and ankle arthroscopy.
Outside of work, Dr. Metzl enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, fishing, bicycle racing, triathlon and running. He is a 5 time ironman and 11 time marathon runner.
